Established nearly 30 years ago Ryedale & District Mencap has been providing quality activities, trips, support and friendship to adults with learning disabilities and autism in the Ryedale and North Yorkshire Moors area. We now do regular activities on Zoom, as well as meeting up in person for social activities, including meals out and trips to shows.

Dalby Forest Accessible Biking
We took a trip to Dalby Forest to try out their accessible bikes. They claim that they can get anyone on a bike so we thought we’d test them, and they sure succeeded. Everyone really enjoyed their time and loved the freedom of riding a bike in the forest! Thank you to the Mencap staff and volunteers as well as Rob and the staff and volunteers at Dalby Forest Cycle Hub for making sure our members had an enjoyable and safe day! We would also like to thank Heather Hopper - Esk Moor Active and Ryedale Community Transport CIO for providing the accessible transport for our members. Finally thank you to Pickering Rotary Club for providing their monetary contribution towards this trip, making it more affordable for our members. We had an amazing time and they will definitely see us again!
